Recently I have begun to dabble in Graphic Design. When creating a new design, choosing a colour scheme can often be difficult. This is where Coolors.io comes in handy.
Although you may have colors in mind for a design it can often be difficult in fine tuning shades that compliment each other in an aesthetic manner. Coolors.co will generate a colour pallette your can use across your entire design. Here’s how i use Coolors.
From the homepage of ccoolrs.co you have the option to launch the Color Generator. You don’t require an account to use this feature, and you be provided a tutorial when you first launch the generator.
The Generator is easy to use but here’s a quick overview:
Hit the spacebar to generate new colors.
You can click on a colour to lock it in. If you alreadybhave some starting colors you can type the hex values in and lock those colors in.
You can also select images to pick a colour from.
- You can export your final pallette in multiple formats such as PNG, PDF, SVG.
You can create an account to save all your previous pallettes, however I get by with an account.
There are IOS and Android applications avalibale. I don’t recommend the Android application, it is a paid application that has not been updated in 3 years. I can’t speak for the IOS application, but I find it best using the web application.
Choosing colors that compliment each other can be difficult. This tool can help you quickly decide on a pallette.
